“Wombat’s Books – because you’re worth it.”
It’s Quarter Final day here at The Biscuit Tin stadium. Amazingly, Viennese Whirls are still with us and are starting to attract the attention of biscuit lovers the world over. Voting, which you can do over on the right there, runs until midnight. Remember to add a comment to this post to explain why your choice should win. Such comments have already decided several matches. All commenters will be entered into the AMAZE PRIZE DRAW (see below).
REMEMBER, YOU CAN STILL DOWNLOAD YOUR FREE WALLCHART HERE.
Almond Thins v Tim Tams
Thins seem to have sneaked into the quarter finals almost unnoticed, but if they can gain a victory over the Australian heavyweights people will finally begin to take them seriously. Wombat Predicts: A Thin win.
.
.
The Wafers easily saw off Fig Rolls last round, but have stiff opposition today in the chocolate-bespattered biccies that won a walkover yesterday. Wombat Predicts: Cookies get lucky.
.
.
Surely Viennese Whirls can’t do it again, can they? It’s hard to imagine that anyone would prefer their frou-frou airy-fairy arty-farty namby-pamby pretentiousness over good old custard creams. Wombat Predicts: Whirls finally get creamed.
.
Both teams beat much fancied opponents in the last round, so will be full of confidence. Wombat Predicts: a nobby win, if only for their superior dunking power.
.
PRIZE DRAW: everyone who leaves a comment will be entered into a Prize Draw after the tournament to win three packets of the World Champion biscuit (unless Tim Tams win cos I have no idea where to get them. You can have Penguins instead) along with a range* of teas in which to dunk them. *might not be a terribly huge range; it depends what I’ve got in the top cupboard.

Obviously feeling peckish and fancying something on the richer side today, so my votes have a definite leaning towards the buttery biscuit side today

Tim tams are like penguin biscuits in the UK aren't they? My fave!!!! Those and custard creams and I'm a happy biscuit bunny. Penguins are my fave animal and fave biscuit. They have a bad joke on EVERY wrapper and are sooooo delish. What's not to love?

I'm getting quite hungry after all this! But I will wave the flag of Shortbread & Custard Creams until they go down in flames. And then I will eat them. Before they burn.
Yipes. What if they end up matched up in the finals? How to vote, how to vote!?

Coming to this late, I'm gutted that Fig Rolls are out. Still, may the custard cream march ever on-wards!

I am shocked!! Shortbread is lovely, buttery, sweet and crumbly, the nicest will melt in the mouth. Also, I hate hobnobs so I'm biased lol

oh my goodness. two hard choices this round. Viennese Whirls and shortbread. thank goodness they weren't against each other! That would have been a quandary.
Saying that I did just vote for hobnobs because blimey you can't get a decent cup of tea in the states and I do like to dunk now I'm home again.
